Dean Dodrill's indie platformer sets a huge sales precedent.

For years, Dean Dodrill poured his heart and soul into the side-scrolling indie platformer Dust: An Elysian Tail, which finally made its way to Xbox Live Arcade and PC in 2012. Now, his fine efforts have paid off in a big way.

Dodrill recently passed on the news that the game has managed to sell over a million units, a huge sales precedent considering its humble origins. “Today, Dust: AET surpassed one million units sold,” said Dodrill in a Tweet post. “Thank you to @xbox, @steam_games & @humble for their support in helping us get there!”

The game, which features imaginative hand-drawn visuals and stellar combat-style action, is well worth checking out if you haven’t played it yet.

Congrats to Dodrill on the feat. We can’t wait to see what he does next.
