Activision Wants To Bring Back Crash Bandicoot

The rumors regarding a Sony buyout have turned up false.

Over the weekend, rumors were building up that Sony had bought back the rights to its Crash Bandicoot franchise from Activision. However, this morning, the publisher clarified that this is not the case.

Speaking with Game Informer, a representative for the company explained, “Activision owns Crash Bandicoot and we continue to explore ways in which we could bring the beloved series back to life.”

While this might dash a few hopes for die-hard Crash fans – or the possibility of a collaboration with the Sony-owned developers that started the franchise, Naughty Dog – at least Activision acknowledged that it’s trying to bring the series back to some extent.
