Where to Find Tier 2 Iron Ores in Pax Dei

Another ore, another furnace!

If you have noticed some resources having a diamond-like icon on the tooltip, the icon corresponds to the resource’s tier in Pax Dei. You’ll start to piece it together once you find some tier 2 resources. An obvious one would be the Iron Ore resources because if you have found some Impure Iron Ores, there’s undoubtedly something better, right? Here’s where you can find those tier 2 Iron Ores and what else it unlocks in Pax Dei.

How to Get Tier 2 Iron Ores in Pax Dei

Once you have visited the nearest mountainous area in your starting location, you’ll probably see deposits like Gneiss, Granite, and Impure Iron Ore. However, if you move closer to the center of the map (past the red lines), the mountainous areas in this location spawn different types of deposits.

The most prevalent ones are Tin Deposits and Copper Deposits, but you’ll occasionally find some Iron Deposits. These Iron Deposits look way darker than all the other deposits, and you’ll need to upgrade your pickaxe to the Iron Pickaxe to mine them.

It takes more than 15 swings of the Iron Pickaxe to mine an Iron Deposit completely, and they usually come in groups of two or three. If you go to this area, you should increase your stamina to make it farming much more efficient, especially if you plan on farming Copper Ores and Tin Ores.

What Are Tier 2 Iron Ores Used For?

Once you get your tier 2 Iron Ores, you’ll unlock the Wrought Iron Ingot recipe from the Furnace. At this point, I suggest creating multiple Furnaces because the crafting time for these resources is too long, and you need to constantly craft all types of Ingots to progress in the game.

Wrought Iron Ingots need 40 tier 2 Iron Ores and 100 Charcoal to craft, and it takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to finish a single craft. Once you have crafted Wrought Iron Ingots, you’ll unlock new recipes and weapons like the Wrought Iron Maul.
