Whenever you have a multiplayer-only game, especially one that relies on a full lobby to play successfully, the ability to play cross-platform becomes a must-have. It’s a feature that many can’t live without in their favorite titles. So, does Killer Klowns From Outer Space have cross-platform support? Let’s dive in and find out!
Can You Play Killer Klowns From Outer Space Cross-Platform?
For the time being, while the game remains in its Advance Access period, which is available to those who pre-order the asymmetrical multiplayer game, there is cross-platform support in Killer Klowns From Outer Space but only in Quickplay. You cannot currently invite your friends from another system to play in your lobby.
However, developer IllFonic did reveal that they intend to allow for cross-platform play across all supported systems, in both Quickplay and via Friend Invites, on day one of the full launch, thanks to an update. If you can wait until the official release date of June 4, then you’ll have your chance to play between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
How Many Players Can Play Killer Klowns From Outer Space?
Killer Klowns From Outer Space is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game in the same style—at least mechanically—as games like Dead by Daylight, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, or Friday the 13th. However, unlike those titles, KKFOS features 3 v 7 matches for a total of 10 players per game.
You have three Klowns and seven Human Survivors per match, which sounds unfair to the Klowns, right? Well, not quite. The Klowns, being from space, bring all manner of unique weapons, such as rayguns and popcorn bazookas, to deal with the Humans in Crescent Cove!
If you’re playing on PC, don’t forget to ensure you meet the system requirements before you attempt to play with anyone else from another console. You don’t want to find out as a match begins that your computer struggles to run the horror game!
