NVIDIA Drops Price of Shield System One Week Before Release

You want a better deal? You got a better deal.

One interesting handheld that could make quite a dent in the market is the Shield, NVIDIA’s all-in-one Android-based system that utilizes a high-definition five-inch screen, along with a console-quality controller.  The portable system received a lot of positive feedback since its reveal, but some questioned its pricing — $349 is a little steep compared to what most of the competition sells for these days.

NVIDIA is listening.  In a post on the official NVIDIA blog, the team reported that it will drop the price of the system by $50, meaning it’ll cost $299.
