With the game roughly two months away from release, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified should build off the success of last year’s XCOM: Enemy Unknown.  However, this is a different experience, a third-person shooter with a great story to boot.

To help expand on that narrative, developer 2K Marin announced two pieces of downloadable content that will help provide some context to what’s going on in The Bureau’s world.  The first, a yet untitled pack, will dig further into the game’s storyline, possibly giving you an understanding of what’s driving the aliens attacking your city.

If you pre-order the game, you’ll also be able to access a new Codebreakers downloadable mission where your team tracks down a secret government communications facility.  Those who pre-order at GameStop will also score a Light Plasma Pistol, along with a yet-unnamed exclusive in-game item.

We’ll have a first look at The Bureau shortly.  In the meantime, 2K Marin has released a new Battle Focus trailer.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified launches August 20th for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
