Lucid Games Working On New Racing Project, Possibly For Microsoft’s Next Xbox Console
The former Bizarre Creations team could be getting back behind the wheel.
While we were saddened by the shutdown of Blur and Geometry Wars developer Bizarre Creations a couple years ago, it’s good to hear that the team lives on and has something new in the works.
Several former members of that studio have gone on to form Lucid Games in the United Kingdom, and today that team has posted some news on its Facebook page that is bound to get people excited. It posted the above image, indicating an upcoming racing game that appears to have a track based in London along with the text “So yeah, Mid-May will be interesting for the studio. We have some exciting updates coming. Stay tuned!”
That news matches up with the next Xbox system reveal that’s coming on May 21st, and speculating on the image above, we could be seeing a next-gen racer for the system coming from the team. Considering that Bizarre Creation worked on the Project Gotham Racing franchise in the past for both Xbox and Xbox 360, we wouldn’t be surprised if it made a return…
