Warframe: How to Get Cranial Foremount

Don't attach it to your skull, it won't do much.

While skinning fish for their parts in Warframe does sound a little morbid, it’s for the betterment of Tenno kind, or at least that’s what I tell myself. Here’s how to get Cranial Foremount in Warframe.

Where to Farm Cranial Foremount in Warframe

Warframe Deimos Cave Hotspot

Cranial Foremount is acquired when cutting the Myxostomata fish at Daughter in the Necralisk. This fish is found within the cave bodies of water on Deimos, specifically in hotspots. If you’re having trouble finding hotspots, then you’re looking for an effect similar to the Northern Lights found near the North Pole. You can also use the image above if that helps identify it.

Keep in mind that for the Myxostomata fish to spawn, you’ll also need Processed Vome Residue to throw in the water. This can be purchased from Daughter in the Necralisk for 400 Standing a piece, and selected when having your Deimos fishing spear out.

No matter whether you get a Basic, Adorned, or Magnificent Myxostomata, you’ll always get two Cranial Foremount when cutting the fish. The only amounts that change are the Benign Infested Tumor and Tubercular Gill Systems, going up based on the quality of the fish.

What is Cranial Foremount Used For?

Cranial Foremount is used in the following recipes with the following quantities:

  • Bonewidow Engine – 2 Cranial Foremount
  • Monachod Mutagen – 4 Cranial Foremount
  • Phijar Mutagen – 4 Cranial Foremount
  • Sporothrix – 2 Cranial Foremount
  • Voidrig Casing – 5 Cranial Foremount

The Voidrig Casing is going to be the most useful of the bunch, helping to make the better of the two currently available Necramechs. Otherwise, the rest are about equally useful depending on what you’re going for. If you want to build one of each of the above (though you’ll likely want multiple Mutagens), you’ll need 15 Cranial Foremount.
