Does Persona 3 Reload Have Denuvo? – Answered

No cracking here

One of 2024’s first big remakes is Persona 3 Reload, coming with brand-new graphics, content and lots of other changes to update it to modern standards. But adding the efficient-yet-controversial Denuvo DRM software is also on this list?

Does Persona 3 Reload Have Denuvo?

Persona 3 Reload does include Denuvo as its anti-tempering method. This has been a common feature for recent Atlus/Sega games, so seeing it in this title is not surprising. This likely means the game won’t be pirated for a while, as it has been harder for crackers to bring down the most recent Denuvo protections.

It also means that it’ll be hard to mod the game on release. Mods have been popular throughout previous entries in the series (most notably Persona 5 Royal), so that’s a bummer for this very active portion of the community. It isn’t impossible for fan-made content to find its way into the game soon, but it won’t be happening so soon.

What Is Denuvo and Why Do People Dislike It?

Denuvo is the industry’s most popular and most efficient anti-tempering software. Its inclusion in any game means that it could take weeks to months until someone can crack it, thanks to its numerous layers of protection and encryption. This makes it automatically the bane of anyone who usually pirates their games.

But Denuvo’s issues go beyond that as many players have noticed that the software takes its toll by severely affecting the game’s performance, especially on PC. This has been proven to be true in some cases, to the point where developers sometimes address the issue by removing Denuvo from their games a few months after release.

It’s currently unknown how this could affect Persona 3’s performance overall, but hopefully, it won’t be an issue. Persona 5 Royal had no performance issues on PC, and it also includes said protection to this day, so this could indicate that Reload won’t struggle with it, mods aside. You can try the game out easily through PC if you have a Game Pass sub, so you can do that before jumping the gun on the full game.
