Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Trailer Officially Goes Online

Following an accidental leak on Saturday morning, the trailer is now available for all to see.

After finally unveiling the game officially last week (following leaked details that had come out before), Ubisoft was hoping to unveil the official trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag for the world to see this morning.  And it did manage to do that, though some people got an early look on Saturday.  Oops.

An accidental “leak” by the website GamesRadar made the trailer available for all to see Saturday morning, though Ubisoft scrambled quickly to get it taken offline until its official reveal two days later.  By then, it had gone viral in a way, with a few sites still sneakily showing it off.

But now the trailer is finally available for all to see, telling the story of Edward Kenway, a pirate/assassin who uses pistols to get the point across to enemies, while still relying on the usual assassin tools, like the hand blade, to eliminate targets.  Only bits and pieces of the story have been unveiled thus far – and we’re still not sure if or how Desmond ties into all of it – but we’re likely to know more in a few months time at E3.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be available across the board for consoles on October 29th, and is coming to “next generation consoles” as well, likely the PlayStation 4 and the forthcoming next Xbox.  No word yet on when those releases are coming.
