Rumor: Follow-Up To Deus Ex: Human Revolution In the Works

Ready for a little Defiance?

When it came out back in 2011, Deus Ex: Human Revolution was an effective follow-up for the sci-fi action series, one filled with great new techniques to master and a harrowing world to explore.  And who could forget those sweet cybernetics?  Not us.

Now, it looks like Square Enix could be returning to that world.  According to a European trademark listing, it appears that the company has trademarked a new license called Deus Ex: Human Defiance, indicating that a sequel to Revolution could very well be in the works.

Though the company had no official comment on the project, Eidos Montreal has been working on something rather secret as of late, and Straight Right, the developer of Mass Effect 3 on the Wii U, has been tinkering away at a secret Square Enix project as well.  Could this be it?  We probably won’t know until E3…but hopefully it’ll live up to Revolution.  And, for that matter, bring Adam Jensen along for the ride.

Look for more details in the months ahead.
