Where to Turn in Severed Kobold Head in WoW SoD

Take your stack of Severed Kobold Heads to Viktoria Woods, the Monster Hunter in Stormwind City. She can be found at the coordinates 69.8, 50.0, in Old Town, just east of the Trade District.

Once you present Viktoria Woods your Kobold Head, she’ll give you the Monster Hunter’s First Rune Fragment. You’ll need this fragment, the Monster Hunter’s Second Rune Fragment, and the Monster Hunter’s Third Rune Fragment to create the Rune of Devastate.

It’s a ritual as old as time. You find a monster; you obliterate it beyond recognition, and then you ferry away random bits of its body, either to alchemize it into gold in a nearby shop or to get a reward. And as you trawl through Elwynn Forest, you’re likely to find that you’ve gotten quite the stack of Severed Kobold Heads.

Fortunately, you don’t have to hoard them like a deranged serial killer. They actually serve a purpose!

The Fastest Way to Unlock the Rune of Devastate in World of WarCraft Season of Discovery

The Rune of Devastate is a unique item that you can use to engrave your gloves with the Devastate Rune. Once your gloves have been engraved, while you are in a Defensive Stance and have a shield equipped, Sunder Armor also deals 60% weapon damage, increased by 6% per application of Sunder Armor already on the target.

To get the First Monster Hunter’s Rune Fragment, you’ll need to give a Severed Kobold Head to Viktoria Woods.

To get the Second Monster Hunter’s Rune Fragment, you have several options. Here’s what you’ll need to give and to whom:

  • Severed Gnoll Head to Viktoria Woods.
  • Severed Wendigo Paw to Junni Steelpass.
  • Severed Gnoll Head to Dorac Graves.
  • Severed Gnoll Head to Vateya Timberhoof.
  • Severed Centaur Head to Vahi Bonesplitter.
  • Severed Spider Head to Delwynna.

To get the Monster Hunter’s Third Rune Fragment, you’ll need to give a specific severed head to a specific NPC. Here are your options:

  • Severed Gnoll Head to Viktoria Woods.
  • Severed Wendigo Paw to Junni Steelpass.
  • Severed Gnoll Head to Dorac Graves.
  • Severed Gnoll Head to Vateya Timberhoof.
  • Severed Centaur Head to Vahi Bonesplitter.
  • Severed Spider Head to Delwynna.

Despite all these options, Viktoria Woods and Elwynn Forest might be the most efficient pathing, as you can get three of the heads you need while you’re in this zone. While in Elywnn Forest, prioritize killing Kobold for the First Rune Fragment, Murlocs for the Second Rune Fragment, and Gnolls for the Third Rune Fragment.

Getting a Gnoll head will be the biggest challenge at level 9, but you can get them by killing Riverpaw Runs and Hoggers. Hoggers are Elite enemies, so approach with caution.
