Pete Hines, Bethesda’s PR man has announced that there’ll be one more piece of DLC for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and it’s to be released on Monday.
The add-on is titled Fighter’s Stronghold and will award you with a freaking castle. Awesome. You’ll even have a troop of knights defending your new home, a secret treasure vault, a wine maker who’ll be happy to brew you special potions, a combat trainer with which to spar, and even a taxidermist to fashion sculptures out of beasts you’ve slain on past adventures.
Not only can you bask in the glory of your house actually being a castle, complete with dining halls, barrack, wine cellars and training rooms, you’ll have access to your own ancient Dwemer Forge which will increases your Armorer skill.
In order to become king of the castle you’ll need to beat a team of bandits intent on looting the building. Once done you’ll find a note from one previous, careful owner. Said note instructs your character to rebuild and refurbish the stronghold and restore the nobility of the Knights of the True Horn. In keeping with mythical castle ideals, there are even a few secret passages and suchlike dotted about the place.
Also in the world of Oblivion, Hines announced that the PS3 version of Shivering Isles will be available via a disc or the PlayStation Network. It’s currently only possible to grab it on PS3 if you purchase the Game of The Year edition (which also includes the original campaign, Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine).
A boxed version of Shivering Isles is coming very soon for 360 fans, which is bundled with Knights of the Nine.
Fighter’s Stronghold will be completely free for one week only on the PC if you take a trip to the official website. The pricing on Xbox Live is not yet known.
