Monopoly GO: Safe Trading Explained

Trading in Monopoly GO just became much easier and safer.

Trading in Monopoly GO can be scary sometimes, especially if you’re swapping stickers with a random player and are unsure whether they’ll fulfil their end of the deal. Fortunately, safe trading now exists in the game, allowing you to exchange cards with others with a lower risk of scamming.

What is Safe Trading in Monopoly GO?

The safe trading exchange feature is Monopoly GO’s way of countering scamming by creating an offer where you can view the stickers your trade partner wishes to send before submitting your own. From here, you’ll both have a chance to view the cards and accept or decline the offer. If your partner sends the wrong sticker, you can reject the exchange and return your card without negative repercussions.

How to Safely Trade Stickers in Monopoly GO

Below is a complete breakdown of this system and the steps to initiating a safe trade exchange:

  1. Enter your album, choose a sticker, and press the “Send to Friend” button.
  2. Pick your friend and press the “Make an exchange” button before confirming your choice.
  3. Wait up to 24 hours for your friend to pick their sticker.
  4. Look in your timeline for your friend’s sticker proposal.
  5. Decline or accept the offer.

If you accept the offer, you’ll receive the sticker from your friend, and they’ll get the one you sent.

Warning:

Double-check the sticker your friend sent to confirm it’s the one you want!

However, you don’t have to use this feature if you trust the person you’re trading with. If it’s a family member, good friend, or community member you’ve swapped cards with for a long time, you can continue sending stickers as usual without turning on this feature. It is an optional mechanic to help combat scamming, but you can stick to usual trading methods if you want quick and easy sticker swaps.
