How to Give Villagers Jobs in LEGO Fortnite

To give your villagers jobs in LEGO Fortnite, ensure they are first a villager, as I made the mistake of not inviting Aura to my village before frantically trying to assign her to a job. Once they’re confirmed as a villager, with a bed and everything, you can speak with them again and give an assignment via the dialogue menu.

That said, every villager has a unique set of skills and roles. For Aura, she’s an explorer. As such, I can’t initially assign her to collect resources like wood or granite (more on that in a moment!), but I can ask her to follow me as I wander the world. She’ll fight alongside me, helping me against those pesky wolves down the hill that keep eating my face.

Furthermore, you must first unlock the necessary skills via the Village Square upgrade to assign villagers to specific jobs in your township. The first skill, ‘Foragers for Hire,’ unlocks with the first level, and it will allow your villagers to collect nearby resources and refine them using workbenches placed in the world.
