The one-eyed assassin is back in action for the first time since Marvel vs. Capcom 2…but will he survive?

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Cable in the video game world.  The last time we saw the high-tech assassin doing his thing, it was in Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, launching enemies into the air and firing huge plasma beams at anyone who got in his way.  But relax.  His return to video games is imminent, so says artist Rob Liefeld, who created the character.

The artist confirmed on his site that Cable will once again mix it up with Deadpool in his forthcoming game from Activision, which is currently in the works over at High Moon Studios (the makers of the Transformers games).  Though specific story details weren’t revealed as of yet, Cable is no doubt out to give the smarmy hitman a hard time in some form or another, maybe even as a boss encounter somewhere later in the game.

We’ll have more details on his inclusion – and the extent of damage he can do – in a forthcoming preview in the months ahead.  Deadpool will be doing some damage this year on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.  BANG BANG!
