How to Swap to Your Secondary Weapons in The Finals

In the heat of the fight, you might really want to change your weapon. And with a second weapon in “reserve,” you might be wondering what button will let you swap to it.

In The Finals, you can’t swap to a secondary weapon. What you have equipped when you enter the game on your main loadout is what you get. For the Light, that’s the M11. For the Medium, that’s the AKM, and for the Heavy, that’s the M60.

But you might wonder about the second weapon in the “Reserve” section of your loadouts. Unfortunately, reserve weapons can only be accessed when you’re dead. During that time, you’ll spectate whatever member of your team is alive, and you can opt to change your loadout to your reserve loadout.

This is the only time you’ll be able to switch to your “secondary” weapon. That makes the weapon you choose even more important. If you opted for Heavy and chose to make the Flamethrower your go-to weapon, you’ll have to accept that you simply don’t have the range to punish the Light that’s sniping at you from the roof.

Instead, you’ll need to either switch to the Lewis Gun or find a way to climb up on the roof after her.

And despite some player complaints and confusion, it doesn’t seem as if this playstyle will change up anytime soon. So, be sure you’re happy with the weapons you have on your main loadout and in reserve.
