Are There AI Voices in The Finals?

Actually, yes, The Finals does use AI text-to-speech software with human input from key voice actors to produce much, if not all, of the dialogue in the game. You’re most likely to notice the AI influence during mid-match announcements.

That said, The Finals is not 100% reliant on AI voicework for the frantic first-person shooter that is taking the competitive market by storm. They have a firm mixture of human voicework and AI-generated text-to-speech content.

Developer Embark Studios wanted to focus on high-quality voice work where it mattered most, such as in the characters themselves, while implementing AI VO for contextual call-outs in the middle of a round. Sadly, many within the community aren’t thrilled about this fact. There is a divide when it comes to AI in technology on the internet, with the two camps split thoroughly down the center.

What is The Finals?

The Finals, developed by Embark Studios, is a free-to-play, competitive multiplayer FPS centered around the theme of a game show in which teams fight in arenas for the ultimate win. The game offers destructible environments, fluid movement, and fast-paced firefights.

One of the biggest boons of the game is the ability to tailor your playstyle to your liking. You can sneak up behind an enemy squad with a melee weapon for a sneak attack, striking from the shadows. Alternatively, you can be the team’s heavy and smash through walls with a sledgehammer and a bull rush.

If you enjoy the frantic PvP in The Finals, you’ll likely enjoy using the Flamethrower to incinerate the competition.
