Microsoft has been dabbling in mobile technology for some time, between the release of the Windows phone and the Surface, and with the introduction of SmartGlass features that incorporate with certain Xbox 360 releases – including today’s release of Halo 4. But what about a full-on gaming platform?
Well, it could be happening. The Verge is reporting that Microsoft is prepping a special edition of Surface that is specifically being designed to utilize the Xbox interface, as well as mobile games. This follows a previously reported rumor with details on such a gadget, explaining how it would cater to a gaming audience in mind.
Microsoft has denied the rumor at the moment, so for now we have to take it with a grain of salt. Still, if they can get something that runs along the lines of the Surface but for gaming purposes, they’d have a heck of a competitor in the market. We’ll see what unfolds over the next few months…
