We’re less than 24 hours away from the release of the highly anticipated Halo 4, featuring the return of Master Chief to the battlefield as he faces an all new race of evil creatures, while occasionally butting heads with the Covenant. The team at 343 Industries put an exhausting amount of effort into the sequel, and you’ll be able to see that for yourself through hours of great single player content, as well as the various multiplayer options.
However, is buying the game enough to fulfill your Halo needs? Sure, some of you will have the Halo 4 Limited Edition with the bonus goodies, and others can download extra goodies through pre-order programs with Gamestop, Amazon and the like. But is that enough?
With that, we present a few extra Halo 4 items you should consider picking up, just to fulfill your need for everything Master Chief. Some of these items do require a deep wallet, as they all don’t go under the $20-or-less category. However, if you’re a fan of Master Chief, there’s no question you need these at some capacity in your life. (And for that matter, maybe buying a Halo 4 hoodie for your significant other wouldn’t be out of the question either…)
With that, let’s look at the Halo goods!
Halo 4 Limited Edition Xbox 360 Bundle ($349.99)
If you’re one of those people that don’t yet have an Xbox 360 console, or just need to upgrade to the new 320 GB model so you can buy more stuff to put on it, this Halo 4 bundle is for you. This swank little package includes a specially designed Xbox 360 game system with customized Halo sound effects for the opening of the tray and the power switch; two funky blue controllers with UNSC see-through printing; a regular wired headset; and a copy of the game for good measure. It also comes with the hard drive, as well as a code for exclusive Halo 4 Avatar content, including a skin, emblem, and in-game armor. It goes for about the same price as the previously released Gears of War bundle, and is well worth the cash. (You can also buy the controller separately for $59.99, if that’s all you really need for your Halo fix.)
Tritton Halo 4 Trigger Stereo Headset ($49.99)
Looking for a good quality headset, but don’t want to pay the $200+ that the high end models go for? Here’s the next best thing, an affordable and good quality stereo headset courtesy of Tritton. This Halo 4-branded set comes with high performance stereo sound, separate game and voice volume controls so you can listen more to the game, or your friends, however you see fit, amplified 40mm speakers with neodymium magnets, and precision balancing, so nothing will ever sound like it’s “off” while you’re playing the game. The microphone is also flexible, so you can move it out of the way if you please. It’s also comfortable for long play sessions, which we’re pretty sure you’ll have a lot of. No, it’s not an Astro Gaming masterpiece, but for those saving their bucks, it’s a solid choice.
McFarlane Toys Halo 4 Series 1 Action Figures ($12.99)
Feel like putting some Master Chief in your life but don’t want to go with the over-sized Halo 3 helmet you bought a few years ago? Say hello to your new best friend – Halo 4 action figures designed by McFarlane toys. Available in the traditional Master Chief design, as well as various Covenant and Spartan soldier models, these affordable yet beautiful figures will definitely stand out on your gaming shelf, leading the charge with your other action figures. You can also pay a little extra and get the Frozen Master Chief with Cryotube set-up ($23.99) or grab a Combat Edition UNSC Warthog Vehicle with Master Chief and Marine Figures ($21.69). They really go a long way into making your game collection look even more awesome – especially if you set them next to your Mortal Kombat bookends. Um, you do own those, right?
Funko POP Halo Master Chief Vinyl Figure ($10.99)
Want something Master Chief related, but also a bit on the cute side? Here’s the Funko POP Halo Master Chief Vinyl Figure, which measures less than four inches tall, but still fits ideally on your desk or shelf, so the world can see you’re still serious about Halo, despite taking the adorable route. If that isn’t enough, you can also grab a Halo Grunt Vinyl Figure for around the same price, and pair them together. It’s perfect for your girlfriend or your kids…or your girlfriends’ kids. Or, hey, just buy you one.

If you want to show the more decorative style of Halo 4 through the clothes you wear, Hot Topic’s line has you covered. Featuring various designs taken straight from the Halo 4 universe, including the game logo, an awesome UNSC eagle-branded design, and a Master Chief-embroidered special, these shirts will really make you stand out in a crowd. If you want to go even further in your dedication, check out Cafepress’ Halo 4 hoodies ($45.00), which feature a huge “4” printed on the front of high-quality soft fleece material. Finally, what better way to pay tribute to the Halo series than taking Rooster Teeth’s more comical route? This stellar box set covers all the epic seasons of Red vs. Blue, as well as extensive behind-the-scenes extras and other goodies that fans will love. And this is bound to attract a few newcomers for the seasons that lie ahead as well. (If you already own the previous Red vs. Blue season sets, you can buy Season 10 Blu-Ray on its own for around $25.) It may not be entirely Halo 4 related, but it’s something fans of Master Chief – and good comedy – shouldn’t miss.
