Earth Defense Force has been a pretty popular series in Japan, but it’s also developed a bit of a following here in the U.S. with the Xbox 360 release of Earth Defense Force 2017 and the revitalization of the series with Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon for PS3 and Xbox 360. Soon you’ll be able to take your alien-bashing tactics on the go.

An announcement on the official Earth Defense Force Facebook page has confirmed that the original 2017 is coming to the PlayStation Vita early next year. This follows the announcement of Earth Defense Force 4 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, signifying the series’ continued expansion on our shores.

 

That means you’ll be able to shoot giant robots, gunships and bugs to your heart’s content wherever you go. I know we’re excited!
