How to Change the FOV in Starfield With Mods

Slide to the left, slide to the right.

The massive space RPG by Bethesda Game Studios features a ton of customization, player choice, and exploration. When you’re trying to lose yourself in a new world, you want to soak up as much of the environment as you can, and having a proper field of view, more commonly known as “FOV,” can make a huge difference. But can you change your FOV in Starfield? We have the answer for you below.

How to Change The FOV on PC in Starfield

To change the FOV in Starfield, you will have to get into the world of mods. Using Nexus Mods, you can download the ‘Starfield FOV Mod’ that will add the console commands to change your field of view in the game.

Follow the link above to the mods page and be sure to read the mod description, permissions and credits to see what exactly the mod does and what it can access on your computer. Always download mods at your own risk. However, this mod will allow you to change the FOV in Starfield finally.

How to Change the FOV in Starfield on Console

Currently, there is no way to change the FOV in Starfield on Xbox. You’ll likely have to wait for an official update or the potential of the Creation CLub to come back. The Creation Club is Bethesda’s official mod support system for consoles that they brought to consoles in 2017 for games like Skyrim and Fallout 4. There is no official word on Creation Club coming back, but we would be surprised if it didn’t.

Is There an FOV Console Command in Starfield?

This question is more complicated than it might initially seem. Currently, there is no console command for a FOV slider in Starfield that players know about. However, since this version of the Creation Engine differs from that of Skyrim and Fallout 4, players are quickly trying to edit the ‘ini’ files and other commands to get it working.

We will update this guide if anyone finds a console command to change the field of view in Starfield, but as it stands, no one has discovered a way to do so.

As of right now, there is no way to change your FOV at all in Starfield. This is the same on both PC and Xbox. With a game that already is lacking ultrawide support, it’s another frustration for players that will likely be up to the modding community to fix themselves.

Does Starfield Have an FOV Slider?

No, Starfield does not have an FOV slider in the game’s display options. You won’t be able to change the field of view using the in-game options menu.

Of course, you can use a field of view slider in the photo mode, which doesn’t help much, but it’s there, I guess.
