Genshin Impact Book of Esoteric Revelations Quest Guide

Cryptic prophecies are the best ones out there

Collectibles in Genshin Impact are usually their own thing, but it seems like they got somewhat of a spotlight in the Fontaine update. The Book of Esoteric Revelations quest focuses exclusively on finding a few of the hidden Enigmatic Pages, with the rest of them being up to you to find later. Take a look at what you’ll need to do to trigger this hidden, important side quest in Genshin Impact.

The quest is available as soon as you finish the Ancient Colors World Quest series, which unlocks the Merusea Village area in the underground. Travel to it and walk up to the nearby mini-waterfall where a lonely Melusian (named ???) is meditating.

Speak with her, who presents herself as Canotila, and she will speak with you about a certain mysterious book. Follow her to “A Very Warm Place” next to the village as she will now make access to a new underwater passage.

In this new area, Canotila asks you to find a few of the pages from the book. You guessed it, it’s the Enigmatic Pages! Your goal is to get the first three of them, which you might have already done. But in case you didn’t, they’ll be marked on your screen.

Nearby a fishing point and a teleport. The cave is hidden beneath a few mountains, and the chest with the page is guarded by a few more Rifthounds.

Found on a nearby chest before entering the Merusea Village. It’s very likely that you already got that one.

Right next to a north Elyneas waypoint. Defeat all of the upcoming Rifthounds in the circle without letting them break the crystals to get the chest with the page.

Once you find your way through all of these challenges, get back to the Book of Esoteric (you can teleport directly to it) and start unveiling the pages’ content with Canotila. Once you reveal the third page, you’ll be sent into a “meditation” state, which is a separate area with a few treasures and puzzles to find.

You can visit it again to get those extras later, so for now focus on following Canotila through the area. Once you enter a small temple with a few Electro pillars in it, climb up the stairs and open the book to get a Scattered Page (this acts as the Enigmatic Page X).

Continue following the Melusian until you get into a battle with a big Rifthound. Beat it to a pulp and you’ll be sent back to reality. You and Canotila will discuss what just happened, and despite your vastly different experiences, the quest is deemed a success. You get x50 Primogems and a Strange Part as the main rewards for your hard work.

You can now place any of the remaining Enigmatic Pages you have on you in the book, uncovering its secrets and getting a few more rewards while doing it. Placing all pages gets you three treasure chests (Luxurious, Precious, and Uncommon) spawning behind the book, so you definitely wanna find them all.
