Halo 3 is set to include a range of new weapons, Bungie said to LEVEL, these consist, at least, of a Spartan Laser, a tool that’s able to disable vehicles in a single shot. Brute spike grenades are also featured, which attach themselves to walls and blow up. The Spiker, a melee weapon, will be visible on the back of the Master Chief.

There’s a new vehicle without weapons, named the Mongoose, a quad-bike capable of carrying two people which was supposed to be in Halo 2.

Journos were also treated to three new levels, that go by the names Valhalla, High Ground and Snowbound, which are apparently similar to Blood Gulch, Zanzibar and Frost Bite. There’s a new feature named the Man Cannon, that’s basically a trampoline. There’s also some kind of new feature for multiplayer activated by the X button. Rumor has it that this will take another player’s weapon but it’s currently just that; rumor. Reloading will now be performed with the left and right bumper buttons to allow the action to be performed individually for dual-wielding moments.

The Halo 3 “Legendary Edition” will include four DVDs of content and a replica Spartan helmet. The disks include the game, documentaries from the developers, loads of extras, including Red vs Blue episodes and cut-scenes from the first two games in HD. There’s also a Halo film trailer of some description.

There’s been nothing yet from Bungie on the new info other than a request for message board fans to not post magazine scans.
