Does BattleBit Remastered Have a Lot of Cheaters? – Answered

"This is why we can't have nice things"

I feel that this is a question that is as old as online multiplayer gaming, and it gets asked for every single game that has even the slightest competitive aspect. BattleBit Remastered is not immune to these questions, and a significant part of the community is having suspicions about the legitimacy of the actions of some players in the game and wondering if there are a lot of cheaters in BattleBit Remastered. We all want to have fun and enjoy our game time, and people actively try to evade games with cheater epidemics. But is BattleBit Remastered like that, really? Let’s find out.

Are There Many Cheaters in BattleBit Remastered?

BattleBit Remastered is still a fresh game on Steam, but the suspicions of players are already there. I have played BattleBit Remastered for a while and I did notice a couple of pretty sketchy kills, but haven’t witnessed craziness such as the “rage spin bot” in CS:GO which would make a person stand out way too much with their score. Speaking of CS:GO: They haven’t resolved their cheating problems fully, and neither have the other big FPS titles, if we want to keep it real.

So, it’s just a matter of how many cheaters are there. BattleBit Remastered runs Easy Anti Cheat, and there have been rumors that they would switch to FACEIT anti-cheat software, but nothing has been confirmed yet. To my understanding, EAC is not very difficult to bypass if you have the right skill set. But then, why would anyone cheat in BattleBit Remastered?

I believe that BattleBit Remastered is still somewhat healthy when it comes to the number of cheaters, and the developers behind BattleBit Remastered are often performing ban waves of cheaters, as seen in this Reddit Post. It’s always a race between developers of hacks and developers of anti-cheat software, similar to the race between computer virus developers and antivirus developers. Cheaters are always at least one step ahead, and the anti-cheat developers do their best to keep the number of steps down to one.

Although a detailed analysis of cheaters’ psychological motives is better suited for another article, I somewhat understand their urge to cheat. However, I fail to comprehend why they derive pleasure from showing off their scores to strangers on the internet, knowing very well that they were not achieved through their own efforts but rather through third-party software.
