Haemimont Games has confirmed that, following the success of both Tropico 3 and Tropico 4, there is a new chapter in the simulation series that’s in the works.
“We’ve already started on Tropico. This time we’re wiping the whole game clean and building it from the ground up,” stated Gabriel Dobrov, chief executive officer of the Bulgarian developer. “We’re starting with a clean design this time and all the graphics will be new.”
Though Dobrov wouldn’t reveal the era that the game will take place in, he did say that it’s much “larger in scope” and that El Presidente, the lead character for the game, would be making some sort of return. Hey, as long as we can get back to ruling over the citizens and making our country a better place, we’re all in.
Look for more information on this new Tropico game in the months ahead. In the meantime, we gotta start growing a mean beard…
