The Sacred franchise may be headed the Persona route with this beat-em-up.

Someone might very well be taking a cue from the Persona 4: Arena move…

Deep Silver has announced the latest addition to their Sacred franchise, but it’s not an action/role-playing game as you might be expecting.  Instead, Sacred Citadel, the name of the project, will focus more on beat-em-up action, with players brawling against enemies across a vast number of lands.

The game offers three different classes to choose from – warrior, shaman and ranger – and has you battling everything from enormous orcs to annoying welp types.  Though the company wouldn’t confirm it just yet, it’s believed that it will contain a similar character customization system as previous Sacred releases, so you can really get a feel for your character.

We’ve included a trailer for you to check out below, and we’ll have more details in an upcoming preview very soon.  Be on the look-out for Sacred Citadel when it arrives on Xbox Live, PC and PlayStation Network in 2013.
