If you’re looking for Nintendo’s upcoming MiiVerse service to be the ultimate social tool…um, you might want to reach for your PC instead.
Nintendo has confirmed that, with MiiVerse, you will be able to socialize with fellow players through video chat and other features, but you won’t be able to share the love with Twitter or Facebook users, as those services will not be compatible with it. So much for social love.
“On the Wii U we do have additional reasons for connecting, we talked about things like the video chat system, nothing revolutionary but it’s going to be convenient, it’s going to be easy,” said Nintendo of Europe’s Laurent Fischer. “The community will be the Wii U owners, who will have this common interest for video games and our expectation about that is it’s going to be a way to enhance the idea of sharing information on the video game.”
Meanwhile, if you want to know what’s been going through Nintendo’s head lately, the company has scheduled another Nintendo Direct broadcast special, which will take place tonight at 12 AM EDT. Locations haven’t yet been given, but we’d be surprised if we couldn’t find it on Nintendo’s main website. Check around for links.
