During Activision’s showreel at its E3 booth, a tiny red bird makes a short, cryptic appearance. The Escapist tracked down an Activision spokesperson to find out more about the appearance, which led to a tease about Rovio’s Angry Birds getting an HD version for console.

“We’ll have some news for you in about two weeks. Wait until you see Angry Birds on consoles in HD,” the spokesperson told The Escapist.

Activision community guru Dan Amrich later confirmed the info on his One of Swords blog.

“It’s the teasiest of the teases, but it is official. When I know more — which the Escapist was told would be a few weeks — I’ll let you know,” he wrote.

There are no other details about specific platforms or pricing.
