Tower of Shadow Location in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
The Tower of Shadow is located just north of the Belurat Tower Settlement. Players will have to enter through the town and defeat the Divine Beast Dancing Lion to reach the entrance to the Tower of Shadow.
However, the entrance is blocked by black tree branches and players will not be able to enter. This location is actually the final area of the expansion where the Enir-Ilim Legacy Dungeon is and where Miquella had traveled to.
While players can get to the Tower of Shadow early on, it is actually not required to defeat the Divine Beast Dancing Lion to enter. Instead, it is a multi-step process.
How to Enter the Tower of Shadow in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
Since the Tower of Shadow is the final area of the expansion, that means players will have to follow the game’s story to gain access to the area. While the Land of Shadows is very large, there are fewer bosses to fight to get to the end compared to the base Elden Ring game. Here is the essential process to enter the Tower of Shadow (Enir-Ilim):
- Defeat Rellana, Twin Moon Knight at Castle Ensis to gain access to Scadu Atlas. Alternately, there is a path around the castle following the lower path east of the Ruined Forge Lava Intake Site of Grace to take you behind the Fort of Reprimand.
- Defeat Messmer the Impaler at Shadow Keep to get the Messmer’s Kindling. Players can head straight in and fight the Golden Hippopotamus boss or follow the hole east to Moorth Ruins to skip the hippo fight.
- Defeat Romina, Saint of the Bud at Church of the Bud located in the southwest of the Ancient Ruins of Rauh region.
- After the fight, use the Messmer’s Kindling on the tree at the church to burn it and be transported to Enir-Ilim. This will skip the Divine Beast Dancing Lion fight and players can interact with the First Rise Site of Grace within the Tower of Shadow,
