Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon To Feature Some Form of Local Multiplayer

Could you be controlling the ghosts? Or maybe Mario might be lending a hand?
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

For the most part, the Luigi’s Mansion series has always been about the plight of a single man – in this case, the somewhat shaky Luigi – as he battles his way through a house filled with celestial spirits, cackling and simply demanding to be caught.  But for the green plumber’s latest adventure, Dark Moon, you just might be able to bring some friends along for the ride.

According to a listing on Nintendo’s website, the forthcoming 3DS sequel will actually include “a brand new local multiplayer mode”, where friends can work with one another in some capacity.  The listing didn’t break down exactly what the multiplayer features would bring, so it could be anything, like other players being able to take control of the ghosts, or maybe even another ghost buster – in this case, Mario – showing up to lend a hand.

We’ve sent out an inquiry to Nintendo to clarify what the new multiplayer mode is about, so we’ll have more details on it soon.  In the meantime, be prepared to be spooked, as Dark Moon will haunt your 3DS on March 24th.
