Hearthstone: Curse of Naxxramas – Druid Class Challenge Tips

Once you've cleared the Arachnid Quarter, you can partake in the Druid class challenge!
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Every wing included in the Hearthstone: Curse of Naxxramas solo adventure offers unique class challenges. These challenges do not become available until you clear the wing, defeating all of the bosses and earning the card rewards for doing so. When you play through a class challenge, you use a special pre-constructed deck. There’s no way to see the cards in your deck, other than playing through a match, and there aren’t restrictions on cards like normal constructed decks. Think of it like Arena, in which you can have more than two of any given card.

This is a fairly straightforward Druid deck. You’re matched up against the Grand Widow Faerlina and receive two Poison Seeds cards upon defeating her. The key to defeating Faerlina is to limit how effective her hero power is. She fires a missile for each card in your hand. That means if you’re holding on to six cards when she uses her hero power, she will launch fire missiles at random enemy targets. If you don’t have any minions in play, that means your Druid will take six damage. Even if you have minions in play, your Druid may still take six damage since the targets are random.

It’s important to play as many cards as you can each turn to reduce the number of cards in your hand. At the beginning of the match, Mulligan any cards that you won’t be able to play during the first three turns. The lower the mana value of the card, the better off you are. Luckily, this pre-constructed deck has a good mix of low-mana cards and powerful higher mana cards. Don’t hold on to any of the spell cards, waiting for a good minion to buff. Get them out of your hand as soon as you can to limit the damage of Faerlina’s hero power.

This deck has quite a few taunt cards and good removal ability. You can also put the Nerubian Egg to good use by making it a taunt with Defender of Argus or one of your spell cards, or simply destroying it yourself with something like Poison Seeds. As long as you focus on getting cards out of your hand, you have more than enough tools in this deck to defeat Faerlina.
