Battlefield 4 features a total of seven game modes per map, bringing back favorites like Conquest Large/Small, Rush, Squad Deathmatch, and Team Deathmatch. Along with these classic game modes, Battlefield 4 also features three new game modes: Obliteration, Domination and Defuse. Although victory conditions of each mode differ, they all require a concerted effort on behalf of your teammates if you want to walk away with a win.
CONQUEST
This classic Battlefield mode is all about capturing and defending flags. Hold a majority of the flags to bleed the enemy team’s ticket count.
RUSH
Fights over M-COM stations are just as intense as they’ve ever been in Battlefield 4’s Rush mode. Whether attacking or defending, both teams must communicate and coordinate to avoid a crushing defeat.
OBLITERATION
In this new and intense mode, both teams fight over control of one bomb with the goal of transporting it to one of three bomb sites on the map. The first team to take out the enemy’s bomb sites wins.
DEFUSE
The stakes are raised in Defuse as there are no respawns and only one revive per player. It’s the job of the attacking team to carry a bomb to one of two sites while the defending team attempts to stop them.
DOMINATION
Think of Domination as small-scale version of Conquest with no vehicles. With only three flags on the map, defending each flag is just as important as capturing them.
SQUAD DEATHMATCH
It’s your squad against three others. Move together with your squad and support each other. Some maps feature a single Infantry Fighting Vehicle; take control of it before the opposing squads do.
TEAM DEATHMATCH
Don’t let this mode turn into a free-for-all. Instead, work with your teammates to secure a defensible portion of the map and let the enemy come to you.
