Challenges
- Keep up with Montgolfiere
- Don’t touch the ground
Cut the Ropes
Your first objective is to cut the ropes that are holding the balloon in place, and in total there are three that require your attention. They are all in close proximity, but if you’re having trouble locating one you can refer to your mini-map or on-screen objective. Should you find yourself in trouble, use a Smoke Bomb to buy some time.
Follow the Montgolfiere
Climb the north wall, then head northwest and follow the balloon. As much as we’d love to be able to tell you every step you need to take, and every move you need to make (see what we did there?), this isn’t that kind of memory. Instead, try to keep an eye on the balloon, as well as the opportunities to free run after it. We think you’ll find that there are a lot of logical paths that you can take.
As for your challenges, those are quite straightforward as well. Don’t let your feet touch the ground, and don’t fall too far behind the balloon. Do those two things and you’ll complete them both.
The only other issue would be the Extremists that line the rooftops. In this case we’ll refer you to Elise, who will playfully remind you no less than 85 times that she’ll deal with them. Slight exaggeration, but it was at least six.
Cut the Rope
Once Elise and her balloon reach the a church your objective will update and require you to cut the rope. It’s really the same as the first three times you did it, except on this occasion you’ll have to climb a building to get into position.
Follow the Montgolfiere
As soon as the cut scene is over you’ll want to approach the nearby lift and take a ride to the rooftop, then continue chasing Elise through Paris. This path is much more simple than the first, so take the free run as much as you can, then move into the marker to trigger the memory ending cut scene. After the long journey that was killing Marie Levesque a short ways back, this was a welcome break.
