All Attacks of N’Erudian Reaper Boss in Remnant 2: The Dark Horizon

Here is a complete breakdown of all attacks that the N’Erudian Reaper boss will unleash on you:

AttacksDescription
Drill SmashN’Erudian Reaper launches a surprise attack by swiftly striking you with its drill.
Drill Smash ComboThis is the same attack as the normal Drill Smash, only this time the boss performs it twice. This only happens when the boss’s health drops below 50 percent and it becomes aggressive.
Electric WebsAfter depleting nearly 30 percent of the N’Erudian Reaper’s health, the boss will teleport to the edges of the arena and start shooting electric webs. This attack will box you inside a series of webs, and the boss will finally jump in the air and come down to the point where you are standing.
Purple SmokeAfter getting very close to you, the boss mixes its melee and ranged attacks with purple smoke. While the smoke seems harmless at first and doesn’t inflict any status effects, it conceals explosives that detonate after a brief delay, dealing damage once the smoke fades.
Extended Purple SmokeThe N’Erudian Reaper, a massive spider-like robot with a drill for a face, uses these tools to extend the range of its purple smoke attack. This attack type covers a larger area around the boss, but functions similarly to its standard smoke attack.
Holographic DeceptionOnce the boss’s health drops below 50%, it adds a holographic deception to its arsenal. This includes creating several holograms of itself when casting Electric Webs, making it harder to track the real boss. It will also execute a holographic Drill Smash combo, teleporting after its first strike and immediately launching into another.
ScreamN’Erudian Reaper will occasionally scream during the boss fight. This attack does not do any damage in particular but it indicates that the boss has become aggressive. The follow up attacks after the scream become amplified.
Purple Projectile OrbsIf you stay at a distance for long during the aggressive phase of the boss, N’Erudian Reaper will fire purple projectile orbs. These are shot from the boss’s upper body and spread in a circular pattern towards the end of arena. Dodging towards the boss will help you not take any damage.
Charge AttackN’Erudian Reaper charges towards you with the drill pierced in the ground and ends the attack with an uppercut like a raging bull.

Best Strategy to Beat N’Erudian Reaper

N’Erudian Reaper is a big-sized boss who moves fast in the boss arena and hits like a truck. The strategy for defeating the boss varies based on your party size. With more people in your team, it becomes easier to manage, as one player can attract the boss’s attention while the others focus on dealing damage.

On the contrary, if you’re facing the N’Erudian Reaper solo, you’ll need some extra help. The Handler Archetype’s Support Dog skill comes in handy in this situation. The Dog will occasionally draw the boss’s attention, giving you brief windows to unleash your full firepower.

Another advantage of having the Dog companion by your side is its ability to revive you if you’re downed. This is especially valuable when you’re tackling the boss solo.

Besides this skill, running a solo fight against the N’Erudian Reaper in Remnant 2 also means you’ll often find yourself low on health as the boss hits hard. To counter this, the Medic Archetype’s Wellspring skill is a great option, allowing you to heal periodically using the Healing Spring AoE. While you can rely on Blood Root consumables for passive health regeneration, Wellspring is much more efficient and helps you stay tankier.

Other than that, you should be mindful of a few of the N’Erudian Reaper attacks, such as Electric Webs and Holographic Deception. The Electric Webs can slow you down, and the boss will follow up by leaping into the air and slamming down at your location once the arena is filled with webs. If your health is below 50 percent, this attack can be fatal, so be sure to dodge-roll to avoid getting trapped in the webs.

The boss also moves quickly, constantly chasing you, which makes stamina management a crucial part of the boss fight. The Support Dog skill, as mentioned earlier, provides a 25 percent movement speed boost, which can help you dodge attacks like the Charged Attack and Holographic Deception efficiently.

Equipping a ring like the Heart of the Wolf is also a good idea, as it increases your maximum stamina by 25 and boosts movement speed by 10 percent. These buffs will help you outrun the boss and avoid taking damage.

The N’Erudian Reaper moves quickly and rarely stays in one spot, so you must stay mobile. Its head is the weak spot, so focus your fire there whenever possible. For maximum headshot damage, I recommend bringing a Long Gun like Deceit, which excels at dealing significant damage per bullet.

Be patient and avoid rushing the fight. Stick to the strategies mentioned above, and you’ll eventually bring down the N’Erudian Reaper.
