Since his introduction in Dragon Ball Z, Vegeta has played a pivotal role in the story as the anti-hero. The Saiyan Prince is proud of his heritage, yet he always seems to be a step behind Goku (Kaaaakaaarooooottttt!). Throughout the story, we see some significant character development, but what if Vegeta’s story played out differently? Could he have even been able to realize the power of becoming a Super Saiyan had he not been bested by Earth’s mightiest heroes? Let’s break down the alternate timelines of Vegeta’s Episode Battles in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO – no spoilers!

Tip: In the episode “Fateful Game of Rock, Paper, Scissors”, Goku and Vegeta play a game of ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ to decide who takes on Majin Buu first. Goku pulls Rock, so pulling paper will let you fight Majin Buu first, ultimately leading you to the alternate episode.

  • Battle Conditions:
    • Survive a given time (canon).
    • Defeat Majin Buu: Unlocks the “Saiyans: The Warrior Race” episode.

Vegeta’s saga features a total of two alternate arcs and three alternate episodes. Bearing in mind that his story in Episode Battles begins on Planet Namek and ends with Majin Buu, it’s safe to say that Vegeta’s saga felt a little underdone. With that said, go forth and conquer like a true Saiyan!
