Using Tributes is the main way to boost your rewards in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred’s Undercity feature. Tributes don’t only boost your rewards, but you also get to choose what type of rewards you are getting by offering specific Tributes. Some Tributes boost your experience gain or even give you more boss summoning materials. However, farming specific Tributes is hard, and if you haven’t finished some prerequisites, you might not even get Tributes in general. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get Tributes in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred.

Where Do Tributes Drop in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred?

If you happen to get any type of Tribute from specific rewards in the season journey or somewhere else, you might find something like “Found randomly in Sanctuary.” These types of Tributes will drop when fighting random monsters from Helltides or any other overworld content.

However, some players might never find a Tribute if they never finished the Undercity priority questline. In Kurast Bazaar, you’ll find a quest line under Sihek that will teach you everything you need to know about the Undercity. Tributes will only drop after you finish the questline, making it confusing for players who obtained these Tributes first before even going through the questline.

If you never finished the questline, you will never get a tribute from finishing any type of content apart from the initial reward bonuses from caches. Finish the questline in Kurast Bazaar and follow it until you unlock the Spirit Brazier. Once you have unlocked the Undercity feature, where you can run it endlessly, Tributes should drop from whatever content you are running.

Types of Tributes in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred, Explained

Tributes have several names attached to them like Tribute of Growth or Tribute of Harmony. These correspond to the type of items it’ll reward the player once you use the Tribute in an Undercity run (offered in the Spirit Brazier in Kurast Bazaar). A Tribute of Growth will reward experience points while a Tribute of Harmony will give you guaranteed Runes as a reward.

However, the ones you want to pay attention to are the extremely rare ones like Tribute of Radiance (Resolute) or Tribute of Ascendance (Resolute). These have a legendary and unique rarity, respectively. These drop from Whisper Caches, which might force you to go around the world looking for those Silent Chests locations.

The Tribute of Radiance gives the player more Ancestral legendaries, which are basically greater affix items for endgame with the changes in the Vessel of Hatred expansion. The Tribute of Ascendance rewards the player with more unique items and an increased possibility of obtaining a Mythic Unique item.

Both these rare Tributes have the phrase “to the player who used the Tribute,” meaning you cannot exploit the mechanic by adding more players. The one who offered the Tribute will be the only one to get these drops.

These Tributes give players an “all-in-one” content or feature where they can run the Undercity and get whatever they need by providing the corresponding Tribute.
