How to Finish Reconnaissance in Escape from Tarkov

King of the rooftops!

The Reconnaissance quest from Prapor is one of the most dangerous Lighthouse quests in Escape from Tarkov. The task pushes you to go to the hottest spot in Lighthouse and be exposed to enemies on all angles on every roof. You also need to know where these roof locations are before going into a raid to finish Reconnaissance safely. Here are all the roof locations of the office buildings and how to finish the Reconnaissance task in Escape from Tarkov.

How to Complete the Reconnaissance Quest in Escape from Tarkov

The Reconnaissance task requires the following objectives to be finished in one raid:

  • Recon the roof of the first water treatment plant facility on Lighthouse
  • Recon the roof of the second water treatment plant facility on Lighthouse
  • Recon the roof of the third water treatment plant facility on Lighthouse
  • Survive and extract from the location

To finish the recon objective, you must step on the roof of each water treatment plant facility (the numbered 1, 2, and 3 buildings or warehouses). Some of the roofs may “bug” out because you might need to step in a more specific area on the roof, like in building 3, where if you step on the roof and you don’t hear a chime of an objective being finished, you must go to the center near the sandbags to get the quest done.

To get to the water treatment plant, you can either go to the abandoned villages and use the bridge by the river or use the main road leading up to the main entrance where you finish the Energy Crisis task. There is also an alternate route where you go to the shoreline beside the main bridge, but it is roughly the same route.

Office Building Roof Locations on Lighthouse

First Office Building Roof

Each facility has stairs leading up to the roof. You’ll notice that these buildings are close to one another, and all of them overlook the center of the water treatment plant. Each of the staircases on each building is on the side closer to the center of the plant. This means that you are wide open to all players looking into these areas, including player Scavs and Rogues.

The first office building has stairs located near the central piping system. Jump over the pipe and go to the stairs. At the second flight of stairs, there are barbed wires annoyingly placed here. Jump over it to get up the stairs faster, or you’ll get slowed down while being wide open from the mountains.

Once you have stepped on the roof, head back down using the same stairs. It is the only way unless you want to parkour and break your legs.

Second Office Building Roof

The second office building is probably the most dangerous one if you are playing as a BEAR. Rogues spawn frequently inside this building, and it can be annoying to deal with them if you need to finish the quest quickly. Fighting them longer will entice more players to intervene. Try to deal with them as fast as possible and step on the roof. On the bright side, there aren’t barbed wires on the stairs here.

Third Office Building Roof

The third office building should be the safest since you can hug the wall on the east of the water treatment plant to get to it. You have enough cover, and you can snipe all the Rogues on the rooftops before going. I highly recommend going to this building first to finish the quest. If you have Easy Job Part 1, the helicopter you have to mark with an MS2000 marker is close to this third office building.

If your last objective is the first office building roof, you can easily get to the extraction by taking the main road. If you end the quest on the third office building, you have to rely on the vehicle extraction to be open, or you can just travel to another map and take the transit location near the vehicle extraction.
