If you’ve been playing Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition recently, you’re eventually going to come across the White Eduardo quest which will require a thunderstorm to complete. If it’s currently sunny and beautiful in your game, then you’re probably wondering how to go about triggering a thunderstorm. In this guide, we’ll explain how weather works in Xenoblade Chronicles.
How to Trigger a Thunderstorm in Xenoblade Chronicles
The weather in Xenoblade Chronicles changes every 12 hours, this means that if you want to trigger a thunderstorm naturally, you’re going to have to wait it out. However, there is also a way that players can attempt to artificially trigger a thunderstorm, but it doesn’t always work. Essentially, it involves going into the game’s settings and messing with the in-game timer. If you’d like to try to trigger a thunderstorm in Xenoblade Chronicles, follow the steps below.
- Press X to open the in-game menu
- Select “Time”
- Move the timer forward 12 hours
- Save the settings
- Back out of the menu and go back into the game
- Rinse and repeat if needed
As you can see, the process of changing the weather is pretty simple, but since it’s randomly generated, you won’t always get the result that you want. So if it’s sunny and you try to change the weather and it’s still sunny, you’ll need to continue repeating the process mentioned above until you’ve triggered a storm. When you finally get the ideal weather, you can go about your business and complete the quest.
When you’ve finished, simply open up the menu again and change the settings back to the current time. It’s worth noting that some players have reported that it can take a long time to get the weather to change, so don’t give up if it doesn’t happen right away. Simply continue to move the time forward by 12 hours and eventually, you’ll trigger a storm.
It seems that most players are trying to trigger a thunderstorm to complete the White Eduardo quest, which is one of the early quests in the game. Essentially, players must defeat a monster aptly named White Eduardo at the Refugee Camp in Gaur Plains. The only problem is that the monster will only show up in a thunderstorm. If it’s currently storming when you have this quest then you’re good to go, but if not you might need to take matters into your own hands. So if you don’t feel like waiting on it to rain naturally, you’ll want to try the method mentioned above.
