How To Use Fusion Attacks in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2

Pair up some unlikely partners and do some damage in Activision's brawler.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 originally made its debut years ago on consoles, but this week, Activision is bringing the game back (along with the original Alliance) to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. One of the coolest things you can do in the game is pair a team of heroes together to unleash a Fusion attack. Here’s a quick rundown of how they work, and when it’s best to use them.

Using a Fusion Attack in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2

A Fusion attack is a great way to clear the playing field, as you’re likely to become surrounded on more than one occasion by bad guys. It can vary, depending who you partner up with. For instance, in the video below, you can see Captain America producing a number of different results with characters, from demonstrating brute force with Venom to deflecting lasers fired by Iron Man.

Once your Fusion meter is charged, you simply need to hold down the left trigger on your control pad. From here, you’ll need to select which superhero you want to combine your powers with, so you can clear the playing field. There is no wrong pairing, as each character you choose can produce devastating results. However, it depends on what style you want to go for.

For instance, Captain America and Iron Man can really clear the area with the reflective laser technique, but Thor can also deliver with the power of Mjolnir, shooting electricity all over the place. In fact, the best thing you can do is experiment with each of these attacks and see what works best for you. Sometimes projectiles are wonderful; other times, attacks like what Hulk and Venom deliver can go a long way. Try them all out and see what works best for you!

Here’s another video below, showing the best that X-Men rival Magneto can deliver with other characters in tow. There’s plenty of mix and matching here.

Have fun mixing up your Fusions!
