Fortnite Season 7 Ending Event Set For September 12

It’s official, the big ending event for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 is happening on September 12 at 4:00 p.m. (EST) and will be a one-time event. On the Fortnite blog, details about what you can expect from the event were shared.

“Operation: Sky Fire – Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Season 7 ending event – takes place at 4:00 p.m. (EST) on September 12. Join a strike team and sneak aboard the Mothership to deliver IO’s final message to the invading Aliens,” the blog post explains.

“The Operation: Sky Fire event playlist will be available 30 minutes prior to start for players to jump in and reserve their spot in the mission. Be sure to log in early and standby for go time. You can join the event with a full lobby of 16 friends, so bring the whole squad and more to help you tackle Slone’s secret mission.”

Because this is a one-time event, Operation: Sky Fire will not be replayable so if you’re hoping to experience it for yourself, you’ll have to do so on September 12 while it’s available. Naturally, with the finale event a little over a week away, Fortnite players looking to cross off all incomplete Quests should jump in and start doing so now.

To help make some things easier, the Fortnite blog post notes that, “Island residents and vending machines have heavily discounted their wares and services!” Similar to Season 6, the Bars you’ve earned in Season 7 will not carry over with you to Season 8 so it’s better to spend them now than let them go to waste.

The same goes for Battle Stars and Alien Artifacts. If you’ve yet to spend Alien Artifacts to customize your own Alien as part of the Season 7 Battle Pass, you should do so before September 12. The same with Battle Stars, which are how you unlock and collect rewards as part of the Season 7 Battle Pass.

As of right now it’s unclear whether Battle Stars will make a return in Season 8, but even if they do, the ones you earned in Season 7 won’t carry over. If you’re still working your way through all of the Superman Quests, these will need to be completed before Season 7 ends on September 12.

Don’t worry about Quests that are separate from the Battle Pass like those for LeBron James as those will carry over into the next season. The only Quests that won’t are, again, Battle Pass related.

To quickly recap, Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 is set to end with a finale event called Operation: Sky Fire which goes live on September 12 at 4:00 p.m. (EST). This will be a one-time event, with no replays on offer.
