How to Change Between First and Third Person Camera

By default, you’ll start off No Man’s Sky in third person camera mode. For many, this will be a welcome change. But, if you miss the old first-person look, then you can change between the two very easily, both in and out of your ship. This can easily be done via the new Quick Menu that Hello Games added with the NEXT update.

To pull up the Quick Menu, all you need to do is press X at any time on the PC. For the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you’ll need to refer to your controls menu, though the game should tell you how to pull this up at some point as it has several useful options for you to make use of.

Scroll over to the Utilities area, and then press up on the arrow pad. Once here, scroll over to the side and you should see the Camera Mode option. Click on this and you can change between both third and first-person camera modes easily.

Now, you can also do this in your ship, allowing you to actually use different camera modes depending on whether you’re inside your ship or walking around on a planet’s surface. We prefer to use first person on the ground and third person in the ship, as it really helps us see around us better, but if you want maximum immersion, you can always run first-person camera mode all of the time.

That’s all there is to know about changing camera modes.
