Microsoft and Insomniac Games’ Sunset Overdrive for Xbox One combines the on-rail grinding of Sega’s Jet Set Radio with over the top weapons, monsters and a hefty dose of 90’s attitude that brings to mind such classic hits as Sonic the Hedgehog, Smash TV and plenty more. Although it resembles a cartoon, complete with slapstick antics, the ugly monsters, big time explosions and gore remind everyone that it’s a mature game for adults.
With this in mind, we invite you to grab a can of Overcharge Delirium XT (the in-game energy drink that turns people into mutated beasties) and watch the official Sunset Overdrive launch trailer. Of particular intertest, have a look at the handful of character customization options, the imaginative respawn animations (phone booth, UFO) and the big open world. We can only imagine the wealth of collectibles waiting to be discovered.
