Far Cry 4 Developer Diary Takes Players Inside Remote Village and Kathmandu

Documentary video adds human element to the upcoming video game.

We missed the first two parts of Ubisoft’s Far Cry 4 developer diary series, but plan to catch up after seeing part three. This time, the developers take us into a remote village in Nepal, where they speak to former Maoist fighters about their involvement in the Nepalese Civil War that lasted 10 years. From there, they travel to Kathmandu to explore a temple and witness religious cemeonies where people burn their dead.

All too often, publishers invite us to visit different places in a variety of video games, yet neglect to add a much-needed human element. This video inspired us to learn more about history and have a deeper understanding of the conflict. We only hope the developers convey the culture as well as they did in the video when Far Cry 4 arrives in stores November 18.
