It may sound odd, but the upcoming Pokemon GO Research Day in September features Oddish! Oddish, one of the original Kanto crew is set to be the show’s star. And really, who can blame anyone? That rotund little face (or is it its body?) is enough to get even the most stoic of trainers smiling. Here is everything you need to know about Pokemon GO’s upcoming Oddish Research Day.

Pokemon GO Oddish Research Day Event Details

Below are the event date and times, the featured Pokemon Oddish, and more details.

Event Date and Time

The Pokemon GO Oddish Research Day event will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Of course, it’s in the title, but the featured Pokemon for the Oddish Research Day event is… Oddish! It provides an excellent opportunity to encounter the shiny variant if you have yet to find one! On top of this, with Gloom, Vileplume, and Bellossom as evolutions, there are plenty of reasons to hunt additional shiny Oddish!

Wild Pokemon Encounters

These Pokemon will appear more frequently during the event.

Wild PokemonShiny
Paras
Venonat
Bellsprout
Shroomish
Roselia
Cacnea
Foongus
Bounsweet

Event Bonuses

The following event bonuses will be active during the duration of the event.

  • Players will receive 2x Stardust for capturing Pokemon.
  • Players will have an increased chance of capturing XXS or XXL Oddish.
  • Players may encounter a wild Oddish that is holding a Sun Stone.
  • Players have an increased chance of encountering a shiny Oddish.

PokeStop Showcases

During the Oddish Research Day event, the PokeStop Showcases will be hosting showcases that feature Oddish.

That’s it, a relatively quiet event, which is nice as there have been plenty of more significant events in Pokemon GO lately. It’s a nice change of pace to focus solely on catching a singular Pokemon without the need to complete research. Phew!
