Sometimes, running a dungeon in Diablo 4 just isn’t enough, and the loot you got on the first attempt was less than satisfactory, to say the least. The good news is that you can reset dungeons in D4 and that allows you to run the same path once again in the pursuit of better loot. Here’s how to reset Dungeons in Diablo 4.

You can reset dungeons by opening your quest journal and holding Square/X to reset all dungeons. Make sure to leave your current dungeon before you initiate the change for the best results. There is no need to take a portal back to town, though, and this is a great way to continue farming bosses like Duriel when you have enough resources.

Simply going back to town with a portal and then entering the dungeon from the portal will not reset the area. This just brings you back to the checkpoint. Before attempting to clear the dungeon with entirely new enemies, it’s important to ensure that all portals have been closed and any party members have left the instance.

How to Reset Dungeons in Diablo 4:

  • Leave your current dungeon.
  • Open the quest journal.
  • Hold Square/X to reset all dungeons.

Keep in mind that this method will also work after you have completed the dungeon as well. You can defeat the dungeon boss in Diablo 4, and then ensure all portals or players have been removed. Then head back to the start and run through all over again.

As for Strongholds, this method won’t work the same. Some Strongholds will even be reverted into town centers following the cleansing of the area in Diablo 4. So you may have to play them with a friend or a new party instead to reset them. In my time playing, I noticed the Stronghold symbols would appear once again in another player’s game.
