Necromancers have all kinds of unique abilities in Diablo 4 and the Corpse Explosion happens to be one of the best for AOE clearing on large groups of enemies. The Black River Scythe unique makes the ability even more enticing, and in this guide, I’ll cover how you can get a hold of the weapon in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4: How to Get the Black River Scythe

You can get the Black River Scythe in Diablo 4 by completing Nightmare Dungeons, taking on Helltide events, and fighting World Bosses when they appear around Sanctuary. As a Unique, the Scythe can technically drop from any kind of activity as long as you are playing your character on World Tier 3 or above.

I like to take on Nightmare Dungeons as much as I can when I’m looking for a unique like the Black River Scythe. The odds of rare drops in tougher content are much higher, especially on World Tier 4, and you can save yourself plenty of time. However, there is always a chance that one of the uniques in Diablo 4 will drop from simply taking out any enemies or opening up containers around the map.

Diablo 4: Black River Scythe Effects Explained

The Black River Scythe is only for the Necromancer class and is a great way to boost the Corpse Explosion. With the Black River Scythe, Corpse Explosion will consume up to four additional corpses around the initial corpse. This explosion will deal increased damage based on your stats and will also have a larger radius for each corpse within the explosion.

On top of the standard effect, the Black River Scythe also has some great Affixes. In other words, you don’t want to miss out on this weapon when using the explosion Necromancer build.
