If you’re looking to check on a recently caught Pokemon’s IVs, it’s pretty simple. You need to get a hold of a Pokemon IV calculator. These are mainly browser-based and don’t require an additional download. Once you have found the calculator you’re looking for, using it is even easier.

How to Use a Pokemon Go IV Calculator

Once you’re using the calculator, punch in the Pokemon you have, and select its CP. This will then allow the calculator to determine its maximum potential in HP, Attack, and Defense. If you just caught this Pokemon and it isn’t leveled up. Select the “Just caught” box. If you’re not seeing this option, make sure you click on the hyperlink at the bottom that says, “Looking for the old IV calculator, this will bring you to a more robust version.

Once you’ve selected all of the options, click “calculate’ it will then run and give you the possible IV combinations for your Pokemon. You can further refine this range with the “Appraisal” part of the calculator.

After this, you can even use the “Advanced” section to continue to try and determine where your Pokemon stands. However, this will require using some Stardust to level it up and obtain the data you’ll need to punch into the calculator.
