Elites at the end of levels in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor can be excruciatingly difficult to deal with, especially when you are in the early levels, without power-ups or weapons. However, there is a way for you to kill an elite at the end of the level easily. It’s a clever usage of game mechanics!

How to Quickly Kill an Elite in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

When you are in the dives, you will notice a bar at the top of the screen that keeps filling up as you come closer to the end of the level.

There is an icon in this bar that might resemble a rubbish bin, and it’s your key to defeating an Elite at the end of the level quickly. That’s a supply pod that delivers a power-up, and as soon as it comes into play, an announcer will tell you to clear up the area around the landing zone (or something along those lines).

Please do precisely that and clean up the area, but as soon as the circle starts filling up, leave the premises.

Then, at the end of the level, when the Elite starts chasing you, you will go back to that circle, fill it up, and time it just so that the pod lands exactly on the Elite’s head, killing it instantly.

Tip: You might need to make long maneuvers around the map to lead the enemies away from the LZ, so that it’s clean when you go in for the Elite kill.

The best way to time the landing of the pod is to have the landing progress bar filled up to two-thirds (66%) when the Elite touches the outer border. Check it out in the screenshot below.

This way, you will have enough leeway to avoid getting eaten by the Elite by the time it reaches the center.

As soon as the pod hits the ground, you can approach it and claim both the XP bonus and a random power-up.

This clever usage of game mechanics does not work with Dreadnought, the final boss of every run. This is why we have a dedicated guide for beating it.
