Legendary and Mythical Pokemon are hard to come by, so it’s wise not to miss your chance to claim these whenever they’re given out for free. And that’s precisely the case with Darkrai right now in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How to Get Darkrai Gift in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Your Darkrai can be claimed by using the game’s Mystery Gift system. Open the menu at any point and select Poké Portal, then connect to the internet if you aren’t already. Then select the Mystery Gift option and head for “Get with Code/Password”, then enter the following code.

  • NEWM00N1SC0M1NG

Darkrai will arrive safely in your boxes and will be available for use immediately inside the usual Cherish Ball used for gift Pokemon. While anyone can claim it for free once, players can only use the Darkrai code until December 21, 2023. Be quick and claim it before it expires!

Darkrai has relatively good stats and comes at Level 50. It might be a tad under-leveled for the DLC content, but this is nothing that some quick training can’t solve if you really want the Pitch-Black Pokemon in your team. And considering the powerhouse it can be, it’ll probably be a good call to have it.

Darkrai is being accompanied all the way from Sinnoh by the upcoming Dialga and Palkia 7-star Tera Raid battles, which will run from December 7 to December 21. Dialga is exclusive to Scarlet, while Palkia will only appear on Violet, but Darkrai is universally obtained in both games. No sign of Giratina or Arceus just yet, though.

These two weren’t shown in the newest Indigo Disk trailer either, but they could still show up during any other events or even during the DLC itself, as we haven’t seen everything that it has just yet. But it does look great from what we’ve seen until here, so there’s a reason to be excited about it.
